Information on personal data processing pursuant to Art. 13 European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This privacy policy applies to online content published by Aventin Value Investment GmbH and to the collection of personal data via this website.

This online content is provided by service providers on our behalf and according to our specifications. We have entered into contracts for order processing with service providers where necessary.

 

II. Data processing when using the website:

1) Personal data:
 According to Art. 4 GDPR, personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

 

2) Contact form:
If you provide us with personal data when using our contact form to send us an inquiry, we will use that data to meet our obligations, fulfill your order and exclusively for the purposes for which you have provided us with said information.

Providing your personal data so that we can process your inquiry is voluntary. We may need to request further data and information from you to further process your inquiry. Refusing to provide us with further information in such case will not have any direct legal consequences. In individual cases, however, failure to provide the requested information may make it difficult or impossible to process your inquiry.

 

3) Storage duration and retention periods:
We store data collected in the context of inquiries, complaints and data breach reports via our online forms for a period of 2 years.

 

4) Data processing when using our website:
We process personal data that we receive from you in the course of your visit to our website and when you contact us by email or via a contact form.

If you visit or use our website purely for informational purposes, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our server. We collect the following data so that you can visit our website. This data is technically necessary for us to display our website to you and to ensure stability and security:

  • Your IP address (network address)

  • Date, time and duration of your visit

  • Address of retrieved files (retrieval address = URL)

  • Access status/http status code

  • Amount of data transferred

  • Website from which the request comes

  • Browser

  • Operating system and browser version of your device (user agent)

Data collection initially only means that the website server becomes aware of the data. We do not store this data. However, some of the data mentioned above is automatically stored in log files, e.g. your IP address. This data is logged on a case-by-case basis to prevent misuse and attacks on the website.

 

5) Advertising consent, newsletter, contact forms:
When you make your personal data available to us for the above purposes, you trigger what is referred to as a double opt-in procedure. Your data will not be permanently processed and stored for the intended purposes until you have confirmed your consent using a separate link. In such case, your data is processed on the basis of your consent.

 

6) Reach tracking & cookies:
This website uses session cookies for service processing, which are transferred to your browser either from our server or from a third-party server. Cookies are small files that are stored on your device. Your browser accesses these files. The use of cookies makes this website more user-friendly and secure.

Most browsers are set to accept cookies. You can, however, deactivate storage of cookies in your browser at any time or set your browser so that you receive a message as soon as cookies are sent. Please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website.

We currently only use session cookies. These do not record your usage behavior.

 

7) Data deletion and retention period:
We delete or block your personal data as soon as the purpose of retention no longer applies. This is always the case unless we need to store your data for a longer period of time as required by law or under other regulations to which Aventin Value Investment GmbH is subject as controller or as necessary to protect our legitimate interests as controller.

 

8) Data transfer to third parties:
Your data is only sent on to third parties to the extent permitted by law or if you have consented to your data being forwarded. This applies, for example, to cases in which forwarding data serves to fulfill our contractual obligations to you.

 

9) Recipients and categories of recipients:
Aventin Value Investment GmbH is generally the only party that processes the personal data you provide to us. In some cases, we may need to disclose your personal data to third parties in order to fulfill our tasks and obligations. These may include natural and legal persons, authorities, institutions or other bodies, provided that there is a legal basis for doing so.

 

10) Third-party platforms (LinkedIn):
Since Aventin Value Investment GmbH posts content on third-party platforms like LinkedIn, the following section addresses data processing in connection with third-party platforms, to the extent Aventin Value Investment GmbH is aware of and can influence such activities. We use these social media profile pages to present ourselves to and communicate with LinkedIn users and other interested individuals who visit our LinkedIn page. Personal data processing pertaining to parties using these sites is based on our legitimate interests in effectively presenting and representing our company (Art. 6 para. 1 (f) GDPR).

 

When someone visits one of Aventin Value Investment GmbH’s profiles (e.g. LinkedIn) on a third-party platform, the operator of that third-party platform sets cookies (data records). The operators of these third-party platforms use these cookies to collect your personal data for the purpose of analyzing user behavior. This especially applies if you are already registered with these third-party platforms. Information associated with the social media profile being used is also generally classified as personal data. This includes messages and statements made while using your profile. In addition, certain information pertaining to your social media profile may be automatically collected during your visit. Some of this information may also constitute personal data. Please refer to the third-party platform’s data privacy policy for more information (see below).

Aventin Value Investment GmbH does not have information as to which personal data is collected by operators of third-party platforms and for which further purposes this user data is processed. We have no influence over the data privacy policies of third-party platforms or over the collection, analysis and use of user data. We recommend that you use the various data protection and security settings available on the third-party platform you are visiting and check these regularly. Each platform operator explains which data is collected during use in its data privacy policy:

 

LinkedIn
LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company (Ireland/EU – “LinkedIn”) is the sole controller of personal data when you visit our LinkedIn page. Please note that under LinkedIn’s privacy policy, your personal data may also be processed by LinkedIn in the United States or in other non-member states.

III. Your rights

As a user of our website, you have various rights under the GDPR, which can particularly be found under Art. 15-18, 21 GDPR:

 

1) Right to information:

You can request information pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR regarding your personal data processed by us. When contacting us, please be specific in your request to make it easier for us to compile the necessary data.

 

2) Right to rectification:
If the information concerning you is not (or is no longer) correct, you can request that this information be rectified pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR. If your data is incomplete, you can also request that it be completed.

 

3) Right to erasure:
You have the right to request that your personal data be erased under the conditions specified under Art. 17 GDPR. Your right to erasure depends on whether we still require access to your personal data in order to fulfill our legal obligations or whether there are legitimate interests that conflict with the erasure of your data.

 

4) Right to restriction of processing:
Under the provisions set forth in Art. 18 GDPR, you have the right to request that the processing or your personal data be restricted.

 

5) Right to object:
Under Art. 21 GDPR, you have the right to object at any time to your personal data being processed on grounds that pertain to your particular situation. We will, however, not always be able comply with this, e.g. if a legal provision places us under the obligation to process data or if this request is in conflict with legitimate interests.

 

6) Right to lodge a complaint:
